This recipe was a staple in our house when we were kids. I’d say my mom probably made it at least twice a month!
While they are super easy to make, they do take just over two hours to cook. So if you plan on trying this recipe, it’s probably best to do it on a day where you have some extra time on your hands. The recipe itself doesn’t take much of your time, though, so you can definitely be doing other things around the house while they cook! They are so worth the time, I promise!
Ingredients:
1 pound chicken wings
1/3 cup + 2 tbsp. brown sugar
3 tbsp. vinegar
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. garlic powder
Optional:
1 tbsp. Sriracha
1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
I added the above optional ingredients this time because my husband likes some heat, and we really enjoyed the wings!
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Lay wings flat in a large baking dish and season with salt and pepper. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes without the sauce. Remove wings from the oven and pour off pan drippings.
Combine all remaining ingredients and pour over wings. Flip the wings over so they are skin side down, cover and bake for 1 hour, basting every 15 minutes. After an hour, uncover, flip wings over, and continue baking for about 30 more minutes or until the wings are nice and sticky.
